PTA

WHO ARE WE?

The school has an active Parent Teacher Association that play a major part in funding many new initiatives within the School.

Grassington PTA is a registered charity. The group currently has an elected chair, Charlotte Lloyd-Clare, and a team of parents who work alongside the school; we organise and run fundraising events for the school community.

WHAT IS OUR AIM?

Our aim is to use the funds raised to enhance the experiences of every child in the school, from improving sporting facilities to extending the range and access pupils have to excellent reading material.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY RAISED GO?

In recent years we have raised funds towards:

  • New school library and books
  • Playground markings
  • IT equipment such as new i-pads and laptops
  • Plants for school garden
  • Decoration of school
  • Subsidies for school trips

Grassington PTA also provide book bags for new starters, gifts for our Y6 leavers, refreshments at sports day, refreshments at after school performances, Christmas crackers for the Christmas lunches and a ‘gift from Santa’.

WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS/ACTIVITIES DO WE DO?

In the past couple of years we have organised or been involved in the following events:

  • Red Tractor Run
  • Grassington Christmas Markets
  • Grassington Church House Coffee Morning
  • Cake and Bake Sales

If any parent has a suggestion of a new fundraising idea, or how to spend the money raised, please contact the Grassington PTA.
