OFSTED says Grassington Primary School continues to be a Good school
Grassington Primary School was inspected by OFSTED on 24 May 2017 and they have agreed that Grassington continues to be classified as a Good school.

Grassington Church of England (VC) Primary School is located in the centre of the village of Grassington.

The hub of the beautiful Upper Wharfedale region of the Yorkshire Dales.

Welcome to Grassington Church of England Primary School, part of the Upper Wharfedale Primary Federation.

We are a small, friendly Church of England Primary School with a caring ethos based upon Christian values. We may be small but we don’t let size get in the way of our ideas or ambitions for our children.

At Grassington CE Primary School we encourage children to immerse themselves in learning opportunities that inspire them. We are passionate about nurturing children so that they flourish into a caring, confident and resilient young person who has a love of learning.

Our core Christian values of ‘love, kindness, forgiveness, thankfulness and trust’ are at the heart of our school and underpin a culture that enable our children to know they are of immense worth.

As part of The Upper Wharfedale Primary Federation, we benefit from being part of an outward looking organisation and have opportunities to learn collaboratively and access specialist teaching beyond an individual school’s scope. Pupils come together at least once a week with peers from their own year group to access specialist teaching in subjects such as PE, music and French.

We pride ourselves on our knowledge of our children. We work hard to know every child, to know their strengths, interests and next steps, so that learning is always challenging and exciting.

The staff and Governors are unwavering in their commitment to children’s learning within our federation. The curriculum encourages children to discover, explore and create. We understand that memorable learning is learning that lasts. We offer a wide school curriculum that ignites a love of learning which will last a lifetime – see our curriculum pages!

Extended hours can be provided through ‘Twit Twoo’ After School Club at Cracoe Village Hall. We also run a breakfast club Monday to Thursday on our school site.

Our teachers, across the federation, meet at least once a week to drive, support and challenge each other to be the best they can be – to make a difference in the lives of the children. We are proud of our school and we hope you can see why.

What others have to say...
Anne Vetch
Chair of Governors

The Governors are delighted with the latest OFSTED Inspection report and see it as evidence of the educational benefits that being part of a Federation have brought to this small rural school.
The standard of education our pupils receive, the commitment of our Executive Headteacher and staff, the emphasis we place on safety and behaviour together with our inclusive ethos have all been recognised in this fair and balanced Inspection report. However, we are not complacent and will continue our constant strive for improvement in Grassington Primary School and in other schools in our Federation.

Summer Concert ! Just to say a big thank you to everyone for the Summer Concert last night. It was fantastic! As parents, it is wonderful to see our children singing their hearts out and really enjoying the experience. I really don't know how you find the time to organise it all - but we are so pleased that the creative side of our children's education is being developed in this way. Thank you very much.

Our Christian Ethos...

Our 7Cs code encourages the children to achieve high moral standards through their concern and mutual respect for others.

Courage, Care, Co-operation, Confidence, Communication, Consideration and Courtesy.

We strive to uphold these values in everything we do and the children take responsibility for recognising and rewarding these values in each other.
