Mrs Katy Mason
I have been very fortunate to have grown up in the Dales, attending Grassington Primary School as a child, and I’m excited to be embarking on the next chapter of my life here as the eldest of my two girls currently attends the pre-school in Grassington and is due to start at Burnsall in September.
I began teaching about 10 years ago, after following my heart away from the path I was on as a furniture designer, and have worked in several primary schools across Yorkshire, in both inner-city and rural settings. I have worked with children from lots of different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and academic abilities and I would be able to draw on my experience in these areas to help the schools in the Federation support all their pupils and parents.
At the moment I am enjoying some time at home with my daughters before returning to teaching and as a family we enjoy spending our time reading, playing in the garden, or walking and exploring the local areas. I also love to cook but I’m fairly rubbish at baking!
‘Community’ is the heart of all we do in the Dales, and at the heart of our communities are our schools; I hope to be able to help support the schools and the Federation to keep moving forward in their vision for the future.
