We are delighted to welcome prospective parents and pupils to come and find out more about our school, meet the Head and have a look around to see what makes Grassington CE Primary so very special. If you decide to send your child to us, you can be sure of a very warm welcome.
We are a small, Christian school family where every child matters and is valued as an individual. We encourage everyone to develop their own talents and interests as well as become proficient in the basic key skills.
Our talented teaching team is supported by hard-working and committed teaching assistants and specialist teachers in PE, Music. French, Computing and for the older children, swimming. Peripatetic music teachers are also available for tuition in guitar/ukelele, keyboard, strings and voice.
The pupils benefit from close links with the community and especially with the Church, as well as co-operative working within the Upper Wharfedale Primary Federation especially for weekly PE lessons, team sports and shared visits.
Our school serves the villages of Grassington and surrounding rural areas. Home-school transport is available for pupils via North Yorkshire County Council (contact school or see the North Yorkshire County Council website for more details).
We enrich our curriculum through the provision of a variety of extra-curricular clubs – see our Curriculum page. Extended hours are also provided by our breakfast club and after school club which are both based at our school.
We aim for each child to leave our school happy, fulfilled and well prepared for the next stage of their education.
We are very lucky to have a selection of excellent secondary schools locally. Our pupils usually attend either Upper Wharfedale Secondary School, Ermysted’s Grammar School (for boys) in Skipton, or Skipton Girl’s High School. Pupils may be entered for the entrance exams to attend the Skipton Grammar Schools as they enter Year 6. Follow these links to find out further information about our local secondary schools from their own websites.
Our annual pupil admission number is 12.. If you would like a place, please contact the school office (see details at top and bottom of this page) and North Yorkshire County Council (http://www.northyorks.gov.uk/schooladmissions) to complete an admission form.
