Advice for Pupils

We want our pupils to enjoy every minute of being at school so here are some tips to how they can make their time at Grassington CE primary School the best days of their life!

Dear Children,

We want you to enjoy every minute of being at school so here are some tips to make your time at Grassington CE primary School the best days of your life!

Get plenty of sleep so that you come to school every day fresh and ready to learn.

Come to school with the correct equipment to help with your learning. Remember to bring your book bag everyday with your reading book in and your reading diary.

Bring your PE kit on a Monday morning and keep on your peg all week.

Have a positive attitude towards your learning; do your best and know that it’s good to get things wrong. That’s how we all learn!

Do your home-work and hand it in on time.

Ask an adult or a friend if you are stuck, worried or scared. Problems can always be sorted, even though you may not think so.

Be proud of your achievements, and those of others.

Enjoy your relaxing time. You deserve and need it!

Our Secrets for Successful Learning

Our secrets for successful learning are displayed in all our classes and help to remind the children of postive learning behaviours that help make a real difference to their learning.

We encourage children to understand that good learning happens:

  • when we concentrate, when we try new things, when we persevere even when things are tricky.
  • it happens best when we communicate with others and talk to each other about what we have learnt.
  • when we try hard and also when we make mistakes.
  • when using our imagination because it helps us to ‘picture things in our mind’ and helps us to know that anything is achievable.
